Went crabbing yesterday and brought a few rods along to kill time while the pots soaked. Saw maybe a dozen jumps between 10 am until 6 pm. My father caught a few ling with a dart, and hooked up for a split second with a salmon using a rapala of some sort. All the while I tried different clouser patterns varying in size, weight, and sparseness...nothing. I could not see what the fish were keying in on...I didn't see any bait jumping. I guess my #1 question is top or bottom? Sinking line? or floating w/ sink tips? I've fished the salt once from shore, now twice from a boat, and I'm lost. Any help would be great!
