I've got an Extrema II and I can't hit targets like that. I think I'll send the damn thing back to the factory to get it fixed.
I like recoil. I may have to break down and get me one of those to save my old shoulder. I really like my 870's, but damn it can kick like a mule with mag loads.
My neighbor put on a Limbsaver pad on his 870 and claims he hardly feels any recoil at all. You might give that a try first. they're kinda like the Decelerator, only a little softer it seems.
That feller ain't too damn bright...don't he know they's a ma-sheen does that bird a-flippin' thing....?
I got the Beretta Xplor Light last season-same action as the Extrema-more oriented for upland hunting-only takes up to 3" shells and it was amazing-as soon as I got it I started breaking clay birds all over the place! Then I went to golf balls-well that is another story! It is an awesome gun for the pheasants and ducks I've shot with it! Rick
I had one of the extrema 2's and it was a great gun. There are 2 different versions of the gun.Standard and the one with the recoil dampener in the stock like Benelli did on some of there guns.About a 3-$400 price upgrade.
My Xplor has "Kick-Off" which is a recoil reduction system. It works great. My 12 GA shooting heavy 3" duck shells feels like my 28 GA with light field loads!
I've got the first Extrema. GREAT gun, in my opinion. I've anchored wounded geese, using Heavy Shot with the 3 1/2 inch mags, at just crazy distances, with less felt recoil than I have with my old sweet sixteen without a recoil pad. Amazing technology.
