Bainbridge Island?

Discussion in 'Saltwater' started by vertebrae, Aug 3, 2005.

  1. Does anyone have recommendations for fishing for salmon around the north end of bainbridge? I have a boat and can get to most areas...

    Thanks in advance!
  2. Howdy Vertebrae! Do you need to stick around the island? If so you will find moving fish from Fay Bainbridge all the way down to the south end. Flatlining or bucktailing flies on the surface until you find willing schools that you can then cast to. Look for bird activity that would indicate bait below the surface, fish tide seams if you see them. Early am and dusk are best when fish are closer to the surface.

Just north of the Island - Jefferson head is very productive as well as Apple Tree Point just north of the Kingston ferry terminal. These 2 areas offer some rip tide action that gather food sources that the salmon will key in on.

further north to Pilot Point/Eglon and Point No Point are also very productive. There is a boat launch at Eglon.

October hosts a small run of silvers heading through Agate pass - not sure if this fishery is still being supported through the hatchery in Brownsville.

    surf - a fellow islander.
