I was in Florida for two weeks with my family. The weather hindered fishing opportunities for about half of it but the Spotted Sea Trout fishing in the Banana River at Cape Canaveral was really good at the end of last week as I ended up catching four trout larger than 20" with the largest running 24". I gave beach fishing a try in Cape Canaveral and up at the Merritt Island National Seashore above the Space Center but low systems and a tropical disturbance moving through the area the previous week or so sent the fish to deeper water and nobody was catching much...but I saw a mermaid so it wasn't a total loss. :)

"Really good" is an understatement. Those qualify as "gator trout" especially considering you were beach fishing with a fly rod. Truly outstanding. Great shot of the mermaid, too.

Nice fish! And a really cute mermaid too. She looked like she was having a great time:). Memories to treasure.
