    Hey guys,

I have a 17 foot alumaweld drift boat and a small (5 hp) motor and I was hoping to find a good beach/point for coho that is within a mile, or even closer, of a boat launch. I live in West Seattle, but I can't think of any boat launches near Lincoln Park.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Shilshole boat ramp... not close to West Seattle, but near some decent fishing...

Great, thanks, that's a good call.

I should have noted that it doesn't have to be near West Seattle, I'm willing drive aways.

Just check the regs regarding Elliott Bay.

Olalla has a ramp. Just off the Fox Island bridge to access Hales Pass. Joemma Beach I believe has a ramp. There's a ramp on Wollochet Bay that will get you kinda close to Pt. Evans.

I think you're right, and it's the Don Armeni (right next to Salty's I believe) which Stonefish mentions above. I was hoping for a ramp a little closer to Lincoln Park as well since I don't want to take the drift boat too far in the salt. That ramp is perfect though for Alki point.

Also, thanks all for the ramp/beach suggestions so far, very helpful.

    SH,
There may also be a ramp available south of Lincoln Park, perhaps Burien or Des Moines?
As long as you can launch within a reasonable distance of some points, you should find fish.
    Good luck.

The only public boat launches between Alki and Tacoma are the sling at Des Moines Marina, and the public boat launch at Redondo. I've heard it's expensive to launch at Des Moines - $35 or $40. There is a private launch at Brown's Point, but it's only for the Community Club members.

There are quite a few good places to launch in the South Sound. Fox Island, Wauna (at the west end of the Purdy Spit), and Vaughn come to mind.
