Beaver Lake: 3/26/08

  1. Went out today for a couple of hours since I saw that it was recently planted. Trolled my usual patterns and had 7 hits and 2 fish to the boat. Think I will try some chironomids next time as the throat samples revealed some good eaters. Swallows were working it hard from 4:30-6 pm.

How big are the typical fish your pulling in?

  3. Pretty small stuff so far, they'd suppose to stock the bigger boys next month. 6-9" were the sizes from yesterday.

I was out for a couple hours Friday and Saturday. I caught one holdover Friday and one little new plant Saturday on a black bugger. All in all, most people I talked to said it's been pretty slow for having just planted it.

In years past, not worth it for the small attached lakes; might find a few small, smallies....trout typically not in them.
