That does have potential practical and entertainment value. And, if you go outside & fire 2 shots in the air all of the bugs will leave the area . . .

Did some research; supposedly Kosher salt is the preferred performance load, with table salt in second place, and sea salt last.

How much damage does it do on a cat? And where can I get one?

From what I've read, they shred the wings & turn them into big ants, vulnerable to death by shoe sole. They're hell on all soft-bodied bugs however & eliminate spiders effectively. I'll let you know . . . now if I still lived on the wet side, garden patrol for slugs would become an instant safari . . .

Gentlemen, this appears to be one of those "must have" items!

However, two thoughts... First, Jim! We could offer guided big game hunts in the California redwoods for the dreaded & dangerous banana slug (wonder if Boone & Crockett has a category...); second, and I'll bet this would squelch the above idea... The pistol grip probably makes them illegal in NY, CA, and CT...

I'm in, Alex. There still must be plenty of slugs out there, but I agree . . . Banana slugs are bulls; a guy might want a back-up. All I know is I plan on having fun with this thing & there's no shortage of winged targets down here (plus, the varmints that take shelter in the garden window will soon be officially "salted-down."). I'll exact some retribution for the load of rock salt I took in the butt when I was a kid even tho I deserved it, lol.

It works! Tallied my first kill; bull fly on the grill cover . . . flipped that thing about 4 feet, lol. I might have to barbeque tonight; I believe that baiting is legal for flies . . .

It's the most fun I've ever had eradicating flies & spiders. I might leave the doors open all summer, lol.

Inquiring minds want to know if you have taken anything on the wing yet. Calculating proper lead would seem to be a challenge.
