I am used to building my freshwater leader (trout) out of .021-.023 Butt material and a combination of sections of leader material down to usually a 5x-6x tippet- using a variation of length of sections- ex- 4ft of 20lb..2ft of 12lb and so on-

I was wondering what your preferences/combinations/lengths are for building the same type leader for fishing in the salt- off the beach- I am going to try it out- Just bought 444 Clear Camo 7wt Intermediate- What type butt material and leader material/tippet do you prefer also.

looking to get set-up today- hook a brother up!
