Caddis?

    Found this guy on the siding of a house near Westport - a couple of miles from the ocean.

    Hi Jim-

    Yes, that is certainly a caddisfly. Although It's rather distinctive, can't say that I recognize it. Is there a lake or pond nearby?

    Hi Jim,

    It doesn't take much water to support caddisflies. Could be a tiny brook, or even a tiny pond in someone's yard.

    I don't remember seeing anything close by, but next time I'm down there, I'll take a look.
