I'm seeing quite a few nice carp caught by members of this website. Any tips on flies that carp seem to like? I don't know too much about the feeding habits of carp other than they eat a lot of different crap. I recently took a new job and moved from trout country to carp country. I'm not too pumped about it but figured I'd give it a shot.
Keith Meyers wrote an article on carp fly fishing and it is archived on this site. It should get you pointed in the right direction: http://www.washingtonflyfishing.com...article/Carp_Fly_Fishing_by_Keith_Meyers.html A more in-depth look at fly patterns can be found here: http://www.msu.edu/~connert/carpfly.htm Good luck!
There was a carp fly swap on this forum a while back, check the gallery under swaps, I think you'll find some good examples. I have picked them up on brown wolly buggers sitting on the bottom, then just twitched a little, on stoneflies, and on pt nymphs.
there is a book out about carp fishing with flies but i have loaned it to some turkey who likes it better than i. mike w
