My fishing buddy caught his first steelhead on a fly on Monday. He was excited of course but I don't think he truly understood how special this accomplishment is. So I need your help to get the message across.

Please complete the following statement with your best examples of how difficult it can be to catch a steelhead this way.

"Catching a steelhead on a fly is harder than ______________"

I'll make sure he sees this thread once it's well populated.

    I'll start it off:

Catching a steelhead on a fly is harder than NOT looking at the bikini-clad women at the beach when you are there with your wife.

Getting laid the first time was easy. Getting laid the last time can be a real killer:rofl

    sorry that was bad

This comes down to devotion, the more time spent getting laid will decrease the opportunity to catch metal with fly, and the converse is true.

Catching a steelhead on a fly (the first time) is harder than (the second).

    - trying to get sleds with 8 dudes to not blast through your runs all day.

    - getting people in Forks to get jobs that don't involve killing wild fish.

    - getting WA, state rivers to a fraction of what they were 15 years ago.

    - convincing a gear chucker there is no fish in the stretch of river your fishing.

Now the guy that mentioned he already caught a steelhead, but is still working on the other....Now that is a young man with his priorities in the right place!

Go fishing, chase women....Hmmmm? He obviously grabs the fly rod!

I couldnt think of anything good, but I can say this: I put more work into catching a steelhead on the fly than I ever did in my marriage. And the steelhead was much more rewarding!

That's an expression the locals used in my part of the south to describe something that was really, really difficult. Makes a great analogy, I think.

These are great. The creativity of everyone here is endless. I especially like the one about WMD's.
