Should have brought my golf clubs.
After running the trail around Chambers Bay, I thought maybe the beach had some prospect for SRC. Today's outing, although only one sample in time, proved my inception to be false. I fished an incoming tide casting toward some of the old dock structure to no avail. The beach composition isn't very conducive for aquatic life (fist size rocks), causing poor feeding grounds for SRC. Of course, I'm novice level, so this is all conjecture. I may have more luck sending my dogs into the tide to stir things up a bit. Either way, exploring is learning, and I've learned not to bring my rod to this beach. Well, at least my fishing rod; the golfers seemed to be having a blast hitting that darn little white ball into oblivion.
