After driving to Dog Lake and finding it almost completely snow covered (except for about 50 feet at the outlet) I turned around and went to clear lake. This is a fairly scenic lake about a mile and a half long, which is completely thawed out.

Unfortunately, it seems that there are not a lot of fish in the lake left over from last year, and it is getting steady if not large fishing pressure already, so don't expect easy pickings. I did manage to land one fish in the 9-10 inch range, and brought one to the boat which was about 12 inches and a pound or pound and a half, but it threw the hook as I was reaching for the net!

I was not fly fishing, but I did hear one fisherman saying that the fish like a certain fly fished near the bottom, I wish I could remember what it was. I do remember that it sounded like it was a dark fly, I don't know if anyone can figure it out from that small clue.
