Had to share this because it is way cool. I can't take much credit, all I did was build the reel seat hardware. Steve did all of the rest of the work. He is off the charts good.

Nice! Steve does great work and he makes it look so easy. I have a VXP that he and I "collaborated" on.
I had him do the reel seat, I did the wrapping and then he put the finish on. I really think he does the best job on epoxy that I have seen.

He does beautiful work, I have a buddy who has one of his rods. The wood handle on my friend's rod is a piece of art in itself.

Nice rod. Steve does nice work and his prices are fair. The wood handles are very nice, I have thought about getting one. He has helped me a lot in getting me started in rod building.

I have enjoyed seeing your reel seats a well.

I'm quite fortunate: I've purchased 2 of Steve's rods at auction. One became my son's highschool graduation present, a collaboration between Steve and John Propp some years ago, and the other I spent last weekend swingin' for big fish on the Clearwater last weekend.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Both rods are joys to behold, and to fish.

As regards spey casting, I paraphrase Gierach: If spey casting is like sex, I'm doing one of them wrong.
