Anyone built (or cast) one of the Dan Craft/Five Rivers 10' 3wt switch blanks? I am interested in building a light switch rod for trout that will still make the fight at least a tad exciting. I know Meiser and Anderson have some sweet options, but at $130 this balnk, if appropriate, would be just my (wallet) size. Thanks, Chris
These are great blanks. I just built a switcher out of a FT108 and it is a fun rod. Haven't heard of anyone building one from a 3 weight blank but I am sure it could be done. It will be an interesting problem lining it though. Seems like that is uncharted territory. Might want to try some DT lines or a real long belly WF for roll casting.
Yeah, lining it will be a search for sure. If anyone has recommendations on that end, it'd be helpful too.
