First off, sorry but my pics are less than optimal, but they are all I got :(
Really fun day in MA 11, cooler but more breezy than I had hoped for but still near perfect.
I tied up a new (to me) pattern and thought I would give it a go.
First off, it was great to run into Mark Mercer at the launch and chat with him a bit, I always love meeting WFF peeps in the field.
I wouldn't normally post a generic TR but I was amazed at the coloration of some of the SRC I caught. They were heavy on the gold/yellow and spots and very pretty. I brought 7 fish to the net with the largest being about 18 inches.
I hit the area just after slack low and finished up just after it topped out. Lots of folks fishing and lots of Seals, and Kingfisher plying the water as well.
Just a good session and I am psyched the action is warming up.

Awesome gold coloration on the fish, the image does it little justice. Are these fish that are back in salt after a stint in fresh?

Fall is here, even the image looks cold :)

A new (to me) pattern that was a big hit with the fish today. I tied these up for chum but apparently they are a hit with the Anadromous trout crowd too.

Just a quick Trip report, nothing fancy but hopefully some inspiration for folks to get out there!

NICE !!! Way to go Dave, it was good seeing you again and thanks for the coffee. I wish we would have been chasing cutt's
instead of staging silvers, much more fun imo. Good looking fly and sweet cutt, not sure about the gold color but I would think as spotted as they were they weren't too far from being in fresh water... Great report !!!!

I've never fished for SRC in the salt before (caught my share in rivers) but after reading threads on this forum and seeing photos like posted above, I really want to get out and give it a try! Looks like the scenery in MA11 is spectacular! I'm thinking a kayak might be in order, providing I can get the boss (Mrs. Cuttbow) to approve the requisition request. :)

Try offering a trade off. Tell her to go shoe shopping and in turn go get yourself a kayak. Works everytime.
