I would pick June for chironomid time. It's also post-spawn and the fish should be back feeding again. I don't believe there's any natural spawning up there but that doesn't stop the fish from trying

One year when we arrived at the main lodge, the host asked us if we had any food allergies or preferences. Being on one of the largest cattle ranches in Canada, we just flipped him "no worries," and were unpleasantly surprised to find escargot awaiting us at dinner. My buddy used the famous John McEnroe line, "You cannot be serious!" Happily, the fishing was much better.

I forgot the escargot. My fishing buddy equates them to snails and will not touch them. Me, I got double appetizers.:) Anything with garlic can't be bad.

I thought escargot was snails... I've had them. They're ok, alot better appetizers out there. I guess some people like them because they're viewed as classy because of the French name, or something.

He thinks "garden snails" and slugs and won't touch them.
