Longer belly lines let you achieve better drifts with the nymphing setup. But, they are tougher to cast. I've been using a 7130 TR with a shimano calais spooled with 30lb braid. With a slip float rig and home made slinkies, I might never speydicate in water over 10 feet deep again. Make sure you add metal grommets to you bobber as the line will groove it out. You could also try swinging, I heard from someone somewhere that people used to catch steelhead with this strange method. I've yet to try it for myself.
