April 1st was windy, but fishable. Most folks were doing well on the usual chironomids. April 2nd was gorgeous, sunny and calm. The water was about 48°F. The fish were in most of the usual places. Delightfully we did not have to fish deep, but those who like that sort of thing were catching fish as well. The shallows had some biggies that were in spawning colors. We mostly had fish that were bright and healthy, in the 12-18 inch range, but fat football shaped fish. We will likely head back next weekend. It was great to see some familiar faces on the spring lake migration! CF
