To much for me guys. I fished Dry Falls on Wednesday the 7th and 9th with my wife and the fishing just didn't hold up. Wednesday stayed fairly consistent but not stellar with the deep fished chironomids but Friday was an effort in futility. I think I heard that one guy landed 10 or so but after beating the water hard for over 10 hours my wife and I only boated 10. That and I lost my net overboard never to be seen again. (One of those rubber boat nets with the metal handles). I bought a new one today and I'm rapping it in foam.
Hi Ira:
What did you do, sit out the wind on Thursday?? Had a great day on Dry Falls Tue., had some friends from the coast came over Thur. but with the wind decided to take them out to a farm pond for some 'bows and spiny rays instead, everyone exercised their rods. Fished Dry Falls again on Friday and we all got fish but a little slower. Checked out the campground Fri. and looked like a pretty good turnout, planned on coming down For a brew or two Sat. night but didn't get around to it. At least all the 206'rs got a taste of sunshine for a few days with the wind laid down. Be interesting to hear their catch statistics, s'pose there will be a lot of postings come Sun. night or Monday.
Thursday, my wife and I fished Lenore, where she hit her first 20 fish day. And yes if you move off of the Northeast corner out into deeper water, there are still Lahotans that will eat a fly and not just accidently get snagged in the mouth. All 20 of her fish were fair hooked. Me...well...I landed 4. She royally kicked my flyfishing behind. Kudos to my wife.
IRA..
