Hey guys, here is the schedule of our Fall Orvis Days. We'll have free seminars - all you steelheaders need to see the Mac Huff seminar on the 29th. We'll have specials and sales throughout the two weeks as well as free food on the two Saturdays. Once again, we'll have casting analysis with Don Simonson on the 30th and beginning casting on the 7th.

    Outdoor and Wildlife Photography
    2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Join professional photographers Earl Harper and Ed Sozinho as they teach you all about composition, lighting and cropping as well as the essential aesthetics of outdoor, nature and fish photography.

    How to Catch Summer Steelhead
    4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Once again, Mac Huff, our Orvis Certified Guide from the Grande Ronde, will be here to present his terrific slide show on dryline steelhead techniques. Mac will follow up his show at the shop with a river demonstration and teaching clinic on the Snoqualmie in Fall City. This is a not to be missed show for all avid steelheaders!

    Sunday, Sept. 30

    Casting Analysis with Don Simonson
    11:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Are you getting the most out of your casts? Is your double haul getting you the distance you want? FFF Casting Board Governor, Don Simonson will be here to analyze your casting mechanics, point out your mistakes and tell you what you can do to fix them. For intermediate and advanced fly casters only.

    Saturday, Oct. 6

    Bonefish and Tarpon
    12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Fresh back from a successful May trip to Belize, Leland Miyawaki, will share a week of sun, bonefish, tarpon, Belizean hospitality and more rum punch than any of us will admit to.

    Sheridan Lake, BC
    2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Lake Sheridan, located in Central B.C., offers some of the most frustrating, focused, intense, and incredible fun you can have throwing flies for monster Rainbows. 4 to 5 pounds are fairly common. 8 pounds gets some attention. 9 and up people want to talk with you. Knowing the difference between Red and Maroon floss, or Light Tan and Pale Yellow yarn can mean the difference between a sore arm from fighting fish all day, and frustration. Throwing huge Traveling Sedge dry fly patterns at dusk can leave you shaking. If you want to know more, Greg Mine will be here to point you in the right direction.

    North Cascades Institute
    4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

Do you and your children want to follow a swallowtail through a mountain meadow? Track a bobcat through the woods? Paint a watercolor? Listen for owls? Paddle a canoe? Share a story? Identify wildflowers? Megan McGinty of the North Cascades Institute will be here to tell you all about this fabulous camp right here in our backyard.

We are pleased to present complimentary Slow-Cooked Elk Stew with Yukon Gold Potatoes and cornbread by Moss Bay Catering in Kirkland.

    Sunday, Oct. 7

    Casting Instruction with Craig Koeppler
    12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
FFF Certified Casting Instructor, Craig Koeppler will be here to introduce you to fly casting. He'll show you a range of basic casting skills, concentrating on loop formation and how the casting stroke affects delivery of line, leader and fly to our intended targets.
