Only the second dry fly i've ever tied..

Slight variant in that my grizzly hackles weren't up to the job, the brown hackles arent the best either. New 'dry fly hackles' on order, so all will be corrected soon enough, but you get the general idea.

Looks like you've already mastered the traditional technique. Fan wings are such pretty flies. (good luck finding any grade 1 grizzly hackle -- teenage girls bought all the feathers on the market to weave them into their hair so it will be a few years before the feathers are available to fly tyers).

Cool fly, nicely done; I can see that "gently alighting on the surface". I tried to tie a fanwing once - when I cast it, it sounded like a plastic grocery bag blowing in a stiff breeze, and my tippett was furled.

    Regards,
    Scott
