In the ongoing quest for anything but a Chernobyl, here's a real simple hopper. Not sure how much the Furry Foam belly helps, but it can't hurt either; infinite color permutations, change to suit your needs.

    hook - Dai Riki 280 #8
thread - UTC 140 hopper yellow
    binder strip - 2mm foam
    body - 2mm foam 2x yellow/tan and self-stick Furry Foam golden yellow
wing - Congo Hair light gold
indicator (optional) - 2mm foam orange
    legs - medium rubber cornsnake

you can get these bodies pre-made with the Furry Foam attached (I DIM); slit belly down the center stripe

mash barb, attach thread and cover front half of shank with thread

tie in binder strip; finish thread at 50% mark

brush with Super Glue and press body down

first wrap firm (but not too firm or abdomen will detach), then add a few more

cross thread over back to create second segment

tie in wing, cross thread back to first segment, pull wing back and tie down

    tie down indicator; add legs

crossover again, tie down indicator/legs; pull foam up in front, half hitch x2 at eye, SHHAN all exposed thread
