    Winter work with heavy tips N big flies has me reaching for one of my MKS's , usually..

    However you mentioned a stic under 13ft for the job--my recommendation after casting several shorter stics would lean towards a SAGE ONE 8126-4..

    Very smooth, hidden power, very light in overall weight and just a plain joy to cast N fish with..

    Have owned(still do some) many 12-13ft shooter rods, but this puppy has a permanent home ..

    Can't go wrong with the Burkies! I have the 7117, and 8128. I use 12' of SA10 and 3" rabbit flies with cones on them for winter swinging!
