first elk shed

    First one of the season. Of course I walked right by it and the wife snagged it behind my back.

    Slow shed hunting today. Only found one and again the wife saw it. Good sign saw quite a few blue grouse and some ruffed grouse

    Flowers finally starting to show

    The elk have started leaving the feeding stations. A view from the kitchen window this morning. I counted over 100 head.

    Feeding on the S slopes.Looking forward to archery elk season in 2011...

    Short hike today. Found one more

    Also stumbled into an area with the remains of 4 elk and piles of cat scat and hair. I think an area of where a big cat hangs out. I cut his track a few times this past Winter xc skiing. Never able to catch him.

    BTW, I have 2 of those red dogs..... I've had Vizslas for many, many years. We need to hook up and hunt them together this fall. We talked about it a few times but just could no put it together. Mostly due to fishing priorities....
