    Sageman, nice job.

Caddis Skater, I'll echo Coach & WT's comments... And add that for a guide you might keep the outspoken BS between you and your client. Here your approach is justification for a bitch slap.

Sageman congrats to the wife. I don't blame you for not saying where it was caught after some of the BS posting about people talking about fishing waters, besides those of us who know the eastside waters have a good idea where.

Awesome work! Myself and two fishing buddies fished this same river (I'm 99.67% sure that it's the same one) today with a big fat nothing to show for it but a pair of leaking waders for one guy. But such is Steelheading.

A friend flew out this week from the east coast and we took off the week and fished the GR, Klick and Methow. We fished hard and managed to catch fish in every river. Not many but a few in each. We spoke to people, guides fishing those rivers and everyone said they were fishing slow.
Seemed that eggs worked in one river and small nymphs with many rubber legs seemd to be the ticket in the closer rivers.

Way to go for Sagewoman! That's gotta' be a good feeling for both of you - wherever you were fishing. I hope it's a place that's now special to both of you.

The most impressive part is Sageman and I were on the river at 7am and fished until almost noon with not so much as a strike. We DID freeze our feet and have ice forming in our rod guides though. We picked up my wife and Sageman's wife and hit the river again. Sageman and I got not a single fish on, yet Sagewoman hooked a fish and landed it!

At least I didn't get shown up by Sageman!

The big deal is that this is a steelhead post.

We fishermen for the most part have steelhead-madness.

Those that have steelhead madness and yet have never caught a steelhead have it the very worst and if you post a report on catching steelhead you will get drilled with questions, PMs et cetera from them.

Steelio Madinitis; it is a medical condition........Look it up!

good work. not sure why every steelhead thread has to turn into a flame, but thats awesome that your lady got one. maybe she'll be rolling you out of bed at 4AM from now on 'cause SHE wants to go catch some steelhead.

Hat's off to the missus for her catch--and you for putting up with the bs on this board.

I'm sure you know to pay close attention to the former, and ignore the latter...

    Tight lines!

Unfortunately, as Mooney Guy reported, we beat the water to a pulp starting at first light, freezing our behinds off. Then we went back and picked her up at NOON and went back during the nice, warm, sunny part of the day. Then she lands her first steelie...

She'll never roll me out of bed at 4:00AM, and I'll probably never convince her to get out of bed for a steelhead before 10 after this....

That's OK, she watched me land 3 of them in the first 30 minutes of light (2 skating dries) the day before, so she gets it.

Ahhh, I'm almost giddy with seeing this post :) All caps, singularly minded on correcting the world...

Just as a hint Caddis Skater. While you may not like dealing with people keeping secrets, it's kinda a culture on this board to be discete on locations. When in Rome so to speak. But you'll find more often than not PM'ing the person will get you a good answer, but if not, hey it's their right to say no. Lets face it there really aren't any secrets anymore, but there certainly still is hard earned knowledge. That, at the very least should be respected rather than ridiculed.

In my mind, as a new-to-the-sport guy, I look at maps, and trip reports, ect, see where-ish people are fishing, and totally expect to have to go do some footwork to find a location. I even expect and enjoy a little secrecy with it. I mean, I hate having things handed to me. The real ironing is that I pretty much only fish the Snoq.
