I bought Skagit Master 3 the other day. I've watched it four times now I think? I decided to try and tie up a few Fish Tacos that employ Ed Hepp's idea of tying on a backwards Waddington Shank. I haven't tried his snell knot trailer hook method yet, but it looks very interesting. I got my eyes open for some Kashmir Goat after seeing how much Ed Hepp's "Underachiever" moves in the water.....These fish Tacos of all variants of Jeff's pattern. Haven't cemented these ones yet. I ran out of thin crazy glue..

These flies look great- make sure to tie up some Flash Tacos too. They are great complements to the Fish Taco series.

I also purchased the 3rd Skagit Master DVD and have to say I am a little disappointed. While I liked a lot of the content, I was surprised:
    • How few flies are actually tied. For a fly tying only video @ forty bucks I expect more.
    • Of the few flies shown, two are repeats from SM2!!
    • No recipes for any of the flies. The user has to listen to what the tier chooses to reveal while they are tying. Pretty standard to include pattern recipes in a fly tying video, but maybe I'm old school!
    • No color variations shown. We see ONE fly per tyer. When Jeff ties up a Fish Taco, we see ONE color version. How about a shot or discussion about variations?
I could go on but don't want to complain too much. You show more variations on the Taco than the SMIII video so thank you!

I know what you mean, I kinda felt like I ate chinese food after watching it. Was still hungry:D I see where you are coming from, but its still super cool to see all those guys talk about different fly concepts, and how they developed them. My favourite part was Ed Hepp's Underachiever! The whole fly is very unique. It looks strong, just the right amount of weight, and it moves great! I like his idea about using the waddington shank backwards and attaching the hook to the back with a snell knot. It eliminates the stinger loop, and keeps down bulk on the body to accommodate the .30 lead wire.

I agree, I was alittle disappointed with it too and to show two flies over again was pretty sad. Come on Mishler, $40 for watching repeats?!?!? Also some of the footage looked unprofessional with the lighting etc. I will still but the next one though...
