Fishing Wescott Bay in Orcas / San Juan Islands

    I'll be staying on Orcas Island's Wescott Bay for the next week and would love to put either my 6wt or 10wt fly rod to use.

    Now that I know it's not lingcod season, I'm looking for alternatives.

    I'd love to hop in a kayak and fish the bay, but have never one before.
    Would love some advice on what to fish for, (and how to fish for it)!

    You've never been in a Kayak Before, or you've never fished from one?

    Have been in and fished from a kayak. :D
    Never fly fished a bay.
    Or been to the San Juans.

    Right on, it didn't seem like a good idea to try fly fishing if you've never kayaked before. I have no idea what you might catch there aside from some Sand Dabs, but I'm sure other will be able to help.
