In the past, some fly fishers on WFF have expressed interest on how to tie the F.T.(floating tube) Sand Lance pattern. On May 10th 1-4PM Leland is putting on an Orvis Day event(see event forum) at the Bellevue Orvis store. My self and 5 other tiers will be putting on tying demonstrations. "Master saltwater" tier Steve Rohrbach will be tying some of his "exquisite" patterns.

I have tied up 25 F.T. Sand Lance flies to give out plus a step-by-step handout on how to tie it. I have been working on floating Sand Lance patterns for 8 years and finally seem to have "dialed in" on an excellent pattern. Last summer the F.T. Sand Lance provided spectacular fishing(30 to 75% hook-up ratio) for sea-run cutthroat and adult coho. The fish usually struck the pattern very aggressively as the water often "exploded".

Looking foreward to meet and talk to some of you from WFF. If there is interest I will also tie the S.T.(sequin tube) clouser minnow.
