Looking for someone to float the river with. I have floated a few of the Southern rivers on my pontoon but ive been wanting to float the Green River. Is there anyone who has floated it on there pontoon and is willing to join me for a day down the river. Willing to drive so we have a shuttle just need someone who has done it before and knows where to put in and take out. What the water conditions are like and so on. Ill be fishing for Steelhead and Trout. Ill be happy with catching either. If someone shows me the way on the Green I will take you down one of the rivers I know very well. Let me know if anyone is interested. I have the next 10 days off so whatever works for you is fine. Although a weekday would help with the crowds. Thanks.
Well if you ever want to go just let me know ill be ready. I would like to find a good stretch to float though. It just opens your options up being able to move hole to hole.
I'm assuming you mean the Green near Auburn. If so, the float from Whitney Bridge to Hwy 18 is a great full day trip. It has sections that may require (or merit) some manual boat maneuvers, but otherwise it's an easy, non-technical float. That section has some nice water with very classic riffle-run-pool. Just follow Green Valley River Rd. upriver off west bound Hwy 18 for about 12 miles. Whitney Bridge is just off to the right before you get to Flaming Geyser State Park.
