For those of you wanting to improve your rod building skills or were interested in starting, Hook and Hackle has a good deal on their complete forecast kits ($73 for a 9' 5wt). Do what I'm doing - buy one or a few, build them up, and donate them to a group that won't mind if their not the best (I'm going to send 3 rods to Jim Riggins for his youth program).

edit: looks like price jumped $10, but $3 shipping this weekend offsets the price difference for 1 rod.

I've been having great luck and fun with blanks by Roger on eBay. Complete kits go for $45, and if you buy a blank and call him, he'll turn it into a kit.
