I was considering heading out to the OP tomorrow, though current weather predictions are somewhat sketchy. Anyone have better insight into the likelihood of being able to fish tomorrow?

According to some guys, the Hoh fishes well between 3 and 4 kcfs, where it's at today, but I'd always been advised by a guide I respect that 3 kcfs is the threshold. Take that for what it's worth. Upper Sol Duc will probably be fishable.

Insight on OP river conditions takes more learning than I've put in time for. The above mentioned guide uses the USGS gage readings plus the NOAA local forecasts. However, he has 20 years experience at interpreting how each river will respond based on the current condition and what it will be tomorrow. That kinda' insight is more of a high art form I think.

Go for it. Worst case scenario: all rivers blown out. Again. I will say that with technology I waste less gas these days than I used to.

Hoh is almost back down to 3k now. With the cold weather expected, I'd be there myself if I could.

A hard drop downto 3000 cfs on the Hoh should be very fishable up high. It all depends what the slides/clay banks are doing from the S Fork down whether there is any visibility. 3-4kcfs isn't gonna get me running to the Hoh unless I plan on fishing up high. 2800 on the Duc and 2200 on the C is a lot of water. Tomorrow the Duc should be 2300 or less. Visibility is probably about perfect but finding a place to wade/cast will be tough unless you're planning on floating it. There's my uneducated .02

If this doesn't hit until the afternoon tomorrow there should be good water to find somewhere.
Tonight: Rain and snow showers likely. Snow level 600 feet. Cloudy, with a low around 34. South wind between 9 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 11am. Snow level 400 feet rising to 1900 feet. High near 45. South wind between 14 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

I was in the Forks area last week. When everything else was blown out, we found clear water on the upper hoh past the park boundary. It is about 19 miles inland, and after making 3 trips out to the OP I have discovered it is the only game in town when everything else is blown out and the smaller drainages have closed for the season. A buddy and I landed 2 natives and a dolly. Go get em!

my last trip out to the coast basically changed the way i think about flows clarity etc. Basically from now on, for me, if I can go fish, I am... you can't catch em if your not fishing.

I'm over here. Everything is blown and forecast calls for 3-4 inches through tomorrow. Warmer weather is melting all the snow as well. Bad seen. Hopefully monday something will shape up.
