Story in the local Ellensburg paper about gangs from Yakima floating the river and starting trouble. The Sherrif's office apparently got a ton of calls about these guys trying to start fights. Some guy got hit with a shovel in one altercation and one gang banger got tossed in jail :thumb: . I was just worrying about not getting my fly caught on shore and now you have to be on the lookout for river floating gang bangers!

That's a bit scary, but what I would watch out for are the inebreated :beer1: college females who are partial to showing off their god (or DR.) given lumps of fat that men like.:thumb:

You don't have to float the river to get a peek. Walk the downtown on a Fri or Sat night and you will see all that your little heart can stand.

I fished the Yak last week. One guy floated by in a raft said, "Caught anything?" - I said no. He said, "Oh yeah? I caught something - a buzz!!!". What a creten hatch that day.

*NOW* I know why the Yak is so heavily fished! College gals coming down to the river to tease the old men into taking a swim.

BTW, that is why I fish from shore... It is much more fun and I don't get wet.

Those gang bangers are idiots. Floating the river they are, as we used to say, and some of us still do, "sitting ducks".

And I gotta tell you, there are some native washingtonians here who are waterfowl hunters.

I think there are some awnry old men around here who would love to start the hunting season early. And you got to know, some of us older gentlemen are NOT the catch and release sort.

And if the young pup bangers read these forums, they should be concerned. And if they aren't, like I said, they are idiots.

Yakima is Hispanic gang central in Washington. Any place is going to have rejects who want to act hard. Yakima has those too, but it also has some hardcore bangers. Hispanic gangs tend to be better organized and more business-like than others.

In a related, and vastly more serious vein: I just received an email from a family member, passed on from an acquaintance, to the effect that around Sep. 23 and 24, Friday and Saturday, the Bloods, nationwide, will conduct an initiation campaign. They will drive after dark with their lights out, and when the first passing vehicle flashes its lights at them (as a friendly warning), the Blood initiates must pursue and stop that vehicle, then kill everyone in it!!!

I desperately hope that this is just an unfounded rumor. But I feel a duty to pass it on, because if true, this could potentially take more American lives than Hurricane Rita. Personally, if I pass any darkened vehicle at night, during that period, I'm doing nothing. I won't even use my turn signals.

^^ That chain letter has been going around forever. I think it happened once years ago, and has been filtering through email ever since.
