Since I've moved up into Ashland, Oregon, I figured that it would behoove me to start tying Intruders for Steelhead. I've learned to use dubbing loops( Which oddly enough, have never needed to use), tie trailer hooks, and use materials I've rarely encountered. Here's a few of my first ties...
Very nice! As I've said before -- you have a talent! The only time I ever "got into intruders" is when I caught one in my garage; he didn't like it, lol.
They look like nice flies, but from the pics it looks like they aren't really intruders. Intruders were designed to give a big profile while still being sparse enough not to hold a bunch of water which makes a fly heavy to cast all day. The rabbit strip and amount of material as a whole seems to defeat this purpose. Try to keep the same size/shape while reducing material. If using rabbit take it off the hide (rabbit really isn't stiff enough for the collar of an intruder and not long enough for the wings/legs). That said, the flies will still fish.
