Bitterroot, you can only do that once! Won't allow my one time to be in front of my own cubs!
come on, Ed, haven't you ever wanted to run with the bulls in Pamplona?
Never heard of a bull eating someone.
Tonight's black bear at the dinner moose carcass was bigger, maybe 500#.
Have experienced the aftermath of running with the bulls, Arcos de la Frontera, Spain, 1990. U. S. Navy reserve navigator got gored. Horn entered just above the inside of the knee. Inserted about 14". Rapid violent head thrust to remove burst the guys thigh wide open. Nasty bloody shock inducing mess. Luckily it missed the femoral artery and it happened a few feet from in front of me. 45 minutes of bolas IV fluids, direct pressure, pressure points and shock management to the ER, and right into the OR. No, no longer Interetested in the running of the bulls and the fools that think they are invincible. I will tell the full version at the next campfire if you'd like.
Grizzly bear, black bear, elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, deer, marmots, fox, a million square acres and we saw maybe 5-10% of it in a full week. This place really is the crown of the continent.
Glacier is one of those parks that can only be fully appreciated with a backpack and plenty of time. Glad you had a great experience. It is a jewel, indeed!
Planning our return with a commitment to see more with packs on our backs carrying all that we may need.
whats the name & author of that book? I'm thinking of a trip over that way in september
With Builders permission I can send forward the book he sent to me on fishing the park.
I wish I had brought a float tube! A lightweight one to hike in to several lakes down nice trails.
Pass it around Ed! Glad you had fun.
When SHig goes mass production with his ultra-light float tube, you won't have any excuse!
Thanks Chris. I will share it and I will also send you another copy! Maybe the WFF Gear Program will get a copy too!
Next time I will have my flytepacker raft in my pack. Lots of shore access, but everyone can fish there. Being out and fishing the rocky drops would be ideal.
