I find that I'm not longer allowed to login on this site from my home computer. The problem does not appear to be at my end. I'm currently logging on at the local library but that is not a very practical solution for me. I'm definitely old school (single handed rods and flip phones) so my home computer is my only access.

I have greatly enjoyed last decade on this site and find folks here on the whole are an amazing community. The range and depth of the various discussion have been something that I have looked forward to nearly every morning as I enjoy my morning coffee. This site has provide me with a lot of enjoyment and information

I have tried to share what limited knowledge about things "fishy" that I may remember and what little fishing insights I have accumulated over the last 1/2 century of fly fishing Washington waters. I have done so in hopes that at a few folks might find that information of interest or value. I'll try to check in once in awhile but do not see how I can continue to regularly post here and will miss our collective interactions.

Anyway good health and tight lines to all. Hope to see some of you on the water.

    Curt

No need for the goodbye. Your home IP is just blocked by the fourm's overactive "anti spam"tool.

Go to http://www.whatsmyip.org/ from your home computer and send a PM to Chris with the number that it displays. He can get you unblocked.

No way, this board will suffer greatly if you bow out Curt. Try Josh's recommendation before jetting.

There seems to be a crack in the veneer that is the tech side of WFF. The pattern of blocking members with little or no evidence of their actions causing this is seemingly on the increase. Is there tech resources to help our friends [Ed? Jerry? we need to send these friends a life line....]

A number of folks are experiencing the same login problem. There's no reason to go anywhere. Chris can fix it but it seems he is AWOL at this time. He'll show up... Fix your problem and you'll be back up and running.

All the mods and the admin have different levels of permissions, and the skills to enact those permissions. Mine are pretty basic permissions and my skills are based more on hours spent reading our WWF pages than tech skill. I'm kind of like the custodian with a cleanup on isle six.

The IP blocking issues often require the administrators hand!

Ed, I think you should just go over to Scoones' house, break in the back door, and reboot the server. Make sure you take video of the whole operation to share here afterward.

NO FREAKING WAY! I have been to the past and present House of Scoones. I never go unannounced. If the ladies of the house wouldn't get me, Axel would...and if all else failed Scoones himself would get me. A little healthy fear is wise, I tell you this because this is wise to know.

That's why I wanted you to videotape it. If you reconsider, you can borrow my GoPro.

I've got a finally-working process to clear IP's blocked by the firewall. It doesn't fix the underlying issue that occasionally blocks some, but it allows me to now quickly unblock IP's without waiting on others. If you get blocked, it'll be IP address specific. You can send me that IP (http://www.whatsmyip.org/) to chris at washingtonflyfishing.com.
