I don't mean to be a bitch about it...just think that now that you have learned the catching part, the handling is just as important and releasing...

It's something we all have to learn and sometimes it means you might have to break a fish off if you can't land it properly....

What would be a good point in all of this is....If this was the state of Wa. which requires you to keep wild fish in the water....(granted this one isn't wild and not in water but close to) Is this the better option of taking a picture over a guy briefly lifting it out of the water for a picture????

Good thing...it's a learning process, just stay in the water a little deeper and the fish won't get freaked as much...Could you have bonked them? Hate seeing a hatchery live another day...even though those poor bastards got to swim so far....

and don't worry, next time stew is at band camp and the game farm we'll stick some of his own stinky salmon juiced beads in his pocket, for his friends...

Jimmy it was a true pleasure to hang with you on the river buddy, your passion for the sport is what I would wish for any one. Keep up the good work, and you don't have to kill all hatchery fish , that is your personal decision to do so or not .
BTW, your secret fish is still secret with me buddy, wink wink:rofl::rofl:

Wish, I had been there! I need someone to show me the ropes on the Grande Ronde, I've heard many great things. My problem is always going to be, if I have to drive 5-6 hours anywhere...it might as well be Forks.

    hello James:

I ponder that same question for a whole week too..should we just stay close home and hit 6 different river within a hour on the OP; but the grande ronde gave us such fond memory a year ago; we knew it was hard to pass up; especially a possibility fishing the clearwater too.. It was well worth the drive...tight line
