Just wanted to relay that I bought one about 2 months ago, and it's flat out the best rod I've ever cast..Got it new-paid retail (yikes) but man- is it nice. The shorter length is nice from the drift boat, and very accurate. Really notice the difference between this and my old 9' 5wt. z axis (which i've sold since buying this). Nice soft tip, strong butt, good (for me) out to about 70'- loops start to diminish further out-my poor skills). Very good rod for the waters I fish (mostly SW Montana rivers/spring creeks). Doesn't work on the yellowstone when the wind kicks up- but few 4wt's will. You won't regret your pursuit. Good luck.
