Man, you need to quitting hitting the gym!

The screw issue aside, it sounds like you are clamping down on your hooks very tightly. Maybe back off how tightly you are clamping the hoosk. I haven't had any issue similar to what you have, and there are a lot of extremely happy Renzetti Traveller owners out there.

Yup, that's what the guy at the hardware store told me, which is why I went with the stainless...I didn't want to get a replacement Renzetti screw and have it break again, but I also didn't want to break the jaws while hoggin' down on a 3/0.

My Griffin Odyssey and HMH vises both hold a hook tight and have never broken.

Ditto, although at times I wished the Odyssey would break. It just never loved me period. But it was my first rotary..I guess I will eventually give it to my nephew,frustration... is a valuable learning tool.I'm keeping my ancient Thompson A though It did me no harm.

I'm with you on the Odyssey. It does get loose and rattles around sometimes. After I tighten up all of the screws it works just fine again. I have the same constant adjustment challenges with the HMH. However, the fact that they are both tough as hell and don't break trumps the all rest for my tying. Besides, at this stage of my tying life I dont want to shop around for another vise.

Ive had my traveler for 14 years and it still works great, never had a problem with it. Sorry about your bad luck and good thing you had glasses on.

I have a Traveller. It has served me well over the years. When the cam lever jaws came out I replaced my twin screw jaws. The traveller has done well with medium to small hooks, but does not hold larger hooks well. When I mentioned this to a Renzetti rep at a trade show, he said to buy some new jaws. (He did not even suggest I send them to Renzetti to have them looked at ). So I did. In fact, I actually bought two sets of new vice jaws. One set is on a Regal for larger hooks and the other is on my Norvise. That did solve my problem with the Traveller. :thumb:

Unless you get the Revolution . It functions about the same as a Nor-vise .
