I'm lucky enough to have Tuesday off and was planning trip to a few lakes, streams, etc. First a couple of questions.

When do the cutts start spawning in the shallows at Lenore?

What are the typical best patterns and retrieval techniques?

    Any other tips?

    Thanks! - Tom :DUNNO

    Fish till ya drop.
    Then suck it up
    and fish the evening hatch.

The cutts are already staging in the shallows at the North end. I got a 20+ day about a week ago. Some nice ones this year, the lake seems recovered to it's previous glory in my opinion.
Use #14 or #16 black chironomids in 3-6 feet of water under the indicator. If they don't take, try a strip once in a while or if that doesen't work just take the indicator off completely and cast and strip slowly. Seems like every day they want a different presentation.
Day I was there they wanted them hung 1' off the bottom and dead still with the chop wiggling them a little.

    It's Possible!!

Fish off the rocks at north end with chironomids & strike indicator. Also lots of fish available full length of lake and on S. end. Hog line hasn't started yet on the N. end but will start to be heavy on weekends with the better weather and fish moving in to the shallows.

Shore fishing at Lenore is very productive. The first fish my wife caught was a 6 pounder from shore. Leeches in black and olive tend to work well, and if you are a good (and patient) chironomid fisher, they are good to use in the spring.
