Help Identifying a Reel?

    My dad just dug my grandfather's fly reel out of the "attic" and I would love to know more about it. Does anyone recognize this reel?

    It has an automatic recoil system, which I have never seen before. He lived most of his life in the Pacific Northwest, so I'm not sure if it's local or what the deal is. Any vintage reel experts out there?
