Hey everyone, My friend is coming back from New Zealand this week and we wanna do a high moutan fly fishing backpacking trip here in Washington. Does anyone have any good suggestions?
We probably wanna do one to two nights and around 6 miles each way.

The high lakes are likely still snowed in after our record snowpack. Your odds of reaching open water improve as you get into August and September.

Last weekend I was up at our cabin on the wenatchee river just below lake wenatchee. I would think you would be able to get to Massie Lake, or Schaefer Lake by now. Although the last trail reports for either lake put the trails in rough over grown conditions. I think Schaefer is around 5 miles each way and probably your best bet this time of year since its only at 5000ft.
