Here are a few pics of the "Elk-Jam" I encounter frequently on the Upper Hoh Rd.

    Great pics.

I fish the south fork and have heard a very large creature breaking branches to get away from me.
I assumed it was a moose, but maybe it was a black bear.
Have seen several deer while on the south fork

If talking about South Fork of the Snoqualmie, no moose up there. Highly possible it was a black bear as they will make alot of of noise scrambling away.

There's a big Elk herd near Packwood that spends a lot of time in town and moves up into the Goat Rocks Wilderness. A couple of years ago, I was doing some research on the Packwood herd and came across a page discussing the herd's movements. As I read down further, some posters started discussing whether "they" follow the herd. It wasn't until I got near the end that I discovered "they" were bigfoots. Cracked me up! The whole web site was devoted to people who are trying to find Sasquatch! Needless to say, I didn't put much stock in their discussions of how the elk herd moves.

I'm in Bonney lake as well and I have seen elk between here and Buckley many times. A couple months ago I had a doe deer in my cul-de-sac early in the morning.

They also make a lot of noise as they nonchalantly saunter away, which has been my experience far more often than not when I've surprised one in my yard.

Sorry picture quality is bad, this was my old digital. But see elk all the time. This was in my back pasture. But would see a ton of cows and occasionally the big bull. But this group of bachelor elk would always hang out in the back pasture (and of course down in the lower apple field). Live in Elk Plains now and don't see them as often, but still see them quite a bit.

Lots of deer here in Montana. The herds are big ones. About 100 to 200 deer in some of them. The reason I know there are so many is I count the legs and divide by 4.

    Elk herds are also big.

I've encountered elk along the SF Snoqualmie a few times, the last time was around Exit 45.
