For the single-handers among you who will be unable to make the spey day next Saturday in Carnation, I've just run across a WEB site that describes and illustrates how to execute a single- and a double-spey with a single handed rod. http://www.flyfishing-scotland.co.uk/flycasting.htm The author describes (very briefly) how to incorporate hauls into the casts to really roll the line out. Enjoy Michael
Most excellent! I have always wondered how to do that with a single handed rod. Now, you guys would actually let a single handed rod guy show up at spey day???? Maybe I will show up.... thanks! --------- Genetic pollution damages wild stocks, bonk those Hatchery Zombies!
What do I know---I'm just an old man I've seen the video by Jim Vincent and two other dudes. It is quite interesting. I paid close attention to the part on the turbo cast and how to use the double Spey with a single hander. Now all I have to do is get as good as that English man. I tried to follow with the video and it seemed to work out alright Jim
i have been working on it my own same self. I can get Spey part of it but that turbo thing still escapes me. Look forward to watching it done. Just read where Krispy Kreams stock just paid $.17 a share dividend, Must have heard about out Speyclave and Krispy Kream Festival :THUMBSUP Speybum
I would also recommend Rio's International Spey casting Video, which features Simon Gawesworthy, who is a remarkable caster and demonstrates several versions of the single handed spey.
What do I know---I'm just an old man Thats the one I have but at the time of writing what I wrote I didn't have the video in front of me and I forgot his name. I keep trying but the more I try the worse I get. Jim
