i dont know about the rest of you, but i am ecstatic for the salmon to come in!

    My wife and son just got me a new saltwater setup for fathers day and I am dying for the salmon to come in!!! She got me a redington predator 8wt and Rio outbound line!

    I'm so jacked I had a dream last night about salmon but I was on the Columbia. First cast, one fish. Anyone know a good psychologist?:rolleyes:

    Took my pink virgin buddy to Leland's seminar last night. Lots of people are pumped about the pinks!

    What's to be pumped about a fish that travels in close to shore, moves in schools, hits anything pink, fights nicely, and there is an abundance of them? I can't figure out what all of the fuss is about, you'd think Santa Claus was coming soon.

    This will be my first year fishing for pinks on a fly.. What weight rod should I use, both in the rivers and in the sound??

    12 wt... so no one will accuse you of using too light of a rod ;)

    6-8 wt is perfect depending on the size of flies and lines you're fishing.
