Besides lots of money, inquire about the bottom fishing, it's apparently spectacular.

Sounds like a fun place to visit; a spey rod may be in order?

Be sure to visit that very cool bar made of ice...you know, the one in the James Bond movie or at least spend a night in the icehotel.

    Have fun

go to this page, http://www.svfr.is/english , maybe you can find some info on fishing that suits you! Just remeber that you have to have a license or the landowners permission to fish a river or lake, it can cost you a lot of money if you donĀ“t

I lived in Iceland for a number of years. Most, if not all, the water is private. Best to get yourself a guide so you'll be able to get on some prime water.

Oh yes "The Rock" was what we called it, no time for fishing the year I was there was busy with other things as below a picture taken the year I was there. Looked like some nice salmon rivers and unique scenery. But had committments to Uncle Sam to fulfill and NATO. Keflavik NATO base was closed about 5 years ago. When you land look over at the hangars across from the terminal thats where I spent many a night and day working on the avionics on these fighter interceptors. Have to get back up there some day.
