Some of you say you don't care, yet continue poking the bear. Is it any surprise that Ira is put on the defensive by some of the asinine comments coming from the same damn people thread to thread? If it's not direct name-calling, it's this internet passive aggressive bullshit. Being that I probably nymph a little bit more than I swing for steelhead, and I'm not speaking for anyone other than myself, I think one of the rubs is the lumping of bank anglers who nymph and are cognizant of others around them with the "typical" guide who side drifts their clients through every run on the river. Personally, I've had plenty of negative interactions from all types of fishermen (was low-holed last year--as in they stepped in about 20' below me--by not one, but TWO spey anglers). But 90% of the time, people are really cool out on the river. If I were judging solely on the shitty content of some of the posters here, the other 10% like to post here.

As far as indicators on fly only water, I'm fine with them not being allowed. But then again, perhaps they should do away with sink tips as well due to the "unfair" advantage.

yeah, I talked to them. They just shrugged their shoulders and kept fishing (I got a "sorry man" out of one of them).

I usually wrestle the polar bear to establish dominance, teach him to cast and make him fish all day. If he hooks up I make him hand off the rod.

Dude, what did I just read? Lot of caterhatin going on. I see the deal with not using the bobber though in fly only water. Besides, I'll just rope chromers in normal water with my go go magic bad ass bead kit. Nobody at the hatchery hole calls me out.

You know, like lassoing them. My dad is a horse, cowboy kinda guy. He used to say it. Though looking back on it he probably meant hog tied with a treble.

None taken man. I'm pretty difficult to offend. Some folks got some thin skins though, sheesh. I mean I rock the bobber, why not. I'm not going to have some debate about what it is or isn't cause it is what it is and that's that. I've had people run me down all my life for stuff about as trivial and that's fine. There isn't any hitch in my gidyup about it nor am I looking to hitch anyone else's. If you saw my beginning in fishing you would know that just fishing ethically is a triumph for someone like me. My only examples were poachers, and I've never done that even as a kid. That's just bad action.

It looks as though this thread has served a constructive purpose. I don't see anyone advocating bobbercating the NF Stilly, even if they see nothing wrong with bobbercating in general and even prefer bobbercating, in general.

Did anyone even post the language of the regs?

What is the limit on # of flies on the stilly?

What defines a fly line? Someone made a joke above about attaching 20ft of fly line to other fishing line and calling it fly fishing ... That's literally the same thing as a Skagit head with mono running line..so even when I swing flies with my spey rod I'm not fly fishing? Cole world. Real Cole.

Polar bears are endangered now so theres a no kill policy nowdays,So if you want polar bear hair in todays world you must ,do a Chuck Norris staredown & get the bear in a submissive state so you can shave the beast & leave the beast with a bad haircut but otherwise unharmed.Anything less would not be social responsible in todays world.

Can I still fish heavy beads on these waters or do I have to switch to glo bugs?
