Playing with some dyed Amherst and trying to blend some old style elements (floss rear, hacke wrapped throat) with a modern intruder framework. In this case it's not floss, but trying to steal the vibe in any event. All on a beefy Waddington shank. Hoping to lose a few of these on the OP in the coming weeks. This one really tickled me.
I for one know nothing about Intruders but the colors of that one would be a killer on the Oregon coast for both steelhead and SRC. Looks great!
great looking animal. I too know nothing about intruders, but i think i'd like to see a shorter shanked hook used - that is based purely on what i've seen in terms of shanks and stingers off the back. Other than that, a great looking fly!! Keep at it. I"ve been considering getting in to the intruder game for a while....still waiting to buy the materials...
