is it to early to fish poppers in Beaver Lake?

    I have the itch and still need to get some flies tied up. Will I have any lick with topwater or is it to early?

    Water is still a little cold for the bass. They did just put 6000 hungry hatchery trout in there though.

    i wouldnt be surprised if you brought a hatchery trout up to a popper though
