As I sit here writing this, there is ice on my favorite bass water. It is cold and windy, with no hope in sight. However, I know that in a couple of months, I will be in my boat slayin largemouth back in the dunes, and throwing pencil poppers to hungry smallmouth. God I can't wait any longer... If anyone wants to make this a productive thread and share a favorite bass fly pattern, please be my guest!!!

Dude, you fish for way more than bass...get out and get after it and stop feeling sorry for your bassless self.

Miyawaki popper takes bass. True story.

Mouse patterns, big bushy mouse patterns.
Land'em on the lily pads, make'em twitch a little then pull'em into the water, slam, blame, thank ya mam.

I know for a fact there's trout to catch nearby (and I'm not talking about the Ford). I know, I grew up there.
